I run a small advertising agency in the Tampa Bay area and was looking for a lead-gen company. Anemesh Sharma contacted me via SMS. He said his company could deliver new leads using SMS. This method of outreach is effective. The older ways of new client prospecting, calls, emails, and ads are much less effective these days.

Anemesh tells me that his company has software that can scrape the web and find the personal phone numbers of the decision-makers for companies that are a good fit for me (I’m paraphrasing). With his help, we wrote a script, and he would text these prospects. Then, provide me the leads so I can close. He pitched me a price of $1,500 for X amount of leads (I can’t remember). We settled on $750 for 15 qualified leads. Sounds like a good plan, right?

HE DELIVERED 4 QUALIFIED LEADS AND NOW HE’S GHOSTED ME. We started using Slack for communication, and that worked well. It took a long time for him to get ramped up, but for a couple of weeks (approx.), he delivered a good amount of leads. Sadly, most of these leads were low-budget companies too small to afford my monthly retainer. This process went on for a few weeks. I did land one new client that has worked out well. Another lead looked like it would work but fell to the wayside financially.

After a few weeks, he went silent on me. Not a word from him for weeks. This was through Slack. Then I remembered I was having a call through WhatsApp. I shot him a text, and he did respond. He told me he was very busy and wanted me to send him my info again. He again said that he was busy but would get things going again. WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE A GOOGLE MEET CALL, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENED, AND NOW HE’S GHOSTED ME AGAIN.

If you are a B2B company looking for lead gen service, do not work with Anemesh Sharma and his company, PROPLUS. Poor lead generation service and very unprofessional in my experience. He did not live up to the professional agreement. His LinkedIn profile says the United States, but I believe he resides in India.
