As the year nears it’s end and we rush to get that last done, we start to get into the holiday mode. The holidays are filled with lots of traditions and one of my secret favorites is Christmas music.

Many people try to avoid it but even the biggest Scrooge has his favorites.  Over the next few weeks you’re going to be inundated with Christmas music. As for me, my favorite Christmas song is The Kinks, Father Christmas. It doesn’t exactly have a warm and fuzzy sound to it, but neither do I. You can also throw in The King’s Blue Christmas and Bowie and Bing’s Little Drummer Boy.

It seems like the Christmas Music Industrial Complex grows exponentially bigger every year. Arenas are packed with groups like the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, who actually split into two camps so they can cover more ground in December. Countless artists – from Justin Bieber to Scott Weiland – released Christmas CDs. Most Christmas songs are insipid and horrible, but some gems have slipped by over the years.
